PROM on wednesday, SO WORRIED?

I understand how you're feeling. I've suffered from bulimia myself. I'm soon going to be discharged as an outpatient from psychotherapy for my eating disorder and anxiety, so I'll try and give you the advice that's helped me so much. My prom is also this wednesday and I've been feeling really scared and nervous too. I'm afraid I won't look good enough, I'll look ugly, fat, and like I don't belong there. About a week ago someone said to me "It's not all about how you look, it's about celebrating finishing your education and the years you've spent at the school. It's about having fun, being silly and letting your hair down after exams". So, I'm going to say the same to you - try not to worry about the way you look, don't compare yourself to others and have an amazing time! I know how hard that can be, really I do. Remember why you bought the dress in the first place, remind yourself how beautiful you are and concentrate on having a wonderful time. Don't worry about looking like everyone else, look a way that makes you feel comfortable and beautiful. Chuck the scales out. You have no idea how much chucking the scales out sped up my recovery. It's all about feeling happy and comfortable in your skin. You're a beautiful person. Take some deep breaths, have a glass of water, put something you like on the telly - do whatever makes you feel good. I hope you have a fantastic time at your prom - I'm sure you will!x
