Why has God deceived all the good people?

"atheists you may think you know everything about the universe but you actually don't". That's the point though, isn't it. We claim NOT to know everything about the universe. We openly admit that we don't, and say that just because we don't know the answer to something, putting it down to a fictitious supreme being is stupid.
